Characteristics of silica gel desiccant

Silica gel desiccant is a common type of desiccant. There are many different properties of other desiccants.

Silica gel desiccant can absorb up to 40% of its own weight of water vapor. The adsorption efficiency is about 35% higher than that of typical clay desiccants. Weight and efficiency are important factors in the production of silica gel desiccants.

Silica gel desiccant also has an almost unlimited shelf life if stored in airtight conditions.

It can be regenerated and reused if needed. Heating can gently remove moisture adsorbed on silica gel and reuse it.
